PROJECT NAME: INTEGRATED AUTOMATIC SYSTEM FOR IMPROVING RAIL AND ROAD TRAFFIC SAFETY BY MODERNIZING RAILWAY CROSSINGS
SUMMARY:
General objective
Transfer in the productive field to SC SPIACT CRAIOVA SA of the innovative scientific and technical knowledge regarding the realization of the integrated automatic systems for improving the safety of the railway and road traffic by modernizing the level crossings
Specific objectives
– Creating the necessary know-how for the development of a new product at SC SPIACT Craiova SA
– Increasing the research-development capacity of SC SPIACT Craiova SA by approx. 25%
– Development of the research field “barriers and safe signals for the areas where the road intersects with the railway” – research direction at the partner research institution
– Execution and testing in operating conditions of an integrated experimental Model “INTEGRATED AUTOMATIC SYSTEM FOR IMPROVING RAIL AND ROAD TRAFFIC SAFETY BY MODERNIZING RAILWAY CROSSINGS”, which will be a guarantee that the new series production will be implemented. SPIACT, will be approved by future customers

– National Railway Company – SNCF “CFR” SA
– National Road Administration of Romania – CNADR
– Private companies to manage non-interoperable railways, rented / leased for long periods
– The mayors of the big cities, through the Autonomous Regions of Local Transport (tram, metro, including depots)
– Industrial units that have a factory railway
